Hi my name is Reyna Talassazan!!I wanted to start my nonprofit because I truly believe that speaking up is one of the most powerful skills a person can have—whether in the classroom, in their community, or in the world. Debate has given me confidence, purpose, and opportunities I never could have dreamed of since I first joined as a freshman. I’ve seen firsthand how finding your voice can transform not just your academics, but your entire sense of self. That’s why I’m so excited to work with everyone and help more students gain the confidence to speak, lead, and make their voices heard. I can’t wait to grow this program and empower as many people as possible.

Hi my name is Hannah Fishler!! I have always believed the power of a voice. Inspired by my own experiences, I felt a deep calling help children find the courage to speak up about their feelings and challenges. Joining the nonprofit organization was a natural step for me, as it aligns with my passion for empowering kids to express themselves Through this journey, I hopes to create a safe space where every child feels heard and valued., they can build a community that supports open dialogue and fosters resilience.

I feel that speech and debate is the most important skill you can learn in life. To be able to speak and communicate your ideas and thoughts on large scales (like in politics) or on small scales (social situations) is necessary in order for people to come together. When I had the opportunity to be a part of the Student Speak Project, I was extremely excited in spreading my experience in speech and debate to other students around the community. To me, this organization is what debate should mean to everyone - discussion in order to form a cohesive and constructive society.

I started debating my freshman year of high school and quickly found a deep love for it. Debate has made me a stronger person, it’s helped me grow in public speaking, express my opinions confidently, and share my ideas freely. It’s also made me more educated about the world and the social issues around me. Debate teaches you how to see things from both sides, to think critically, and to stay open minded. I truly believe everyone can benefit from it. It’s strengthened my communication skills, helped me explore my interests, and inspired me to help others find their voices too. I’m so proud to be part of this amazing cause.
